Obituary of Frances Cupidean Trantham

Funeral services for Frances Cupidean Trantham, age 59, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Bethel East Baptist Church, 18990 County Road 87, Woodland, AL 36280, with Rev. Terry Eason, Rev. Ridley Herren, and Rev. Keith Runels officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Mrs. Trantham will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday. Mrs. Trantham passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in Bowdon, Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Robert Trantham of Alexandria; one stepdaughter, Kara Trantham of Birmingham; three sons, Scott Herren of Woodland, Josh Herren (fiancé, Courtney) of Newell, and Jake Herren of Woodland; one stepson, Keith Trantham of Alexandria; two grandchildren, Savannah Herren and Sadie Herren; one sister, Maxcine Eason (husband, Terry) of Bowdon, GA; one brother, Dannie Smith of Woodland; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ken Eason, Ricky Spradlin, Roger Maddox, Wayne Wilson, Mark Harmon, Matt Smith, Keith Trantham, Tim Garrett, and Justin Stapler. A Woodland native, Mrs. Trantham was born on February 27, 1956, the daughter of Crawford and Myrtle Cook Smith. She was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church and worked as a CNA at Carrollton Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Trantham was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Albert Herren.
