Funeral services for Oliver Faye Williams, age 85, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at 2:00 PM from the First Baptist Church of Wedowee with Rev. Cade Farris officiating. Burial will follow at the Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015. Mr. Williams will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday. Mr. Williams passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include: one daughter, Lesia W. Waldrep (husband, Barry) of LaGrange, GA; one son, Douglas O. Williams (wife, Kira) of Wedowee; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Vinson R. Williams of LaGrange, GA. A Randolph County native, Mr. Williams was born on December 24, 1929, the son of Sanford O. and Lizzie Lou Bradley Williams. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee, a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and was the owner/operator of Williams Barber Shop for 49 years. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dean Williams; and one brother, Johnny Williams. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wedowee Music Department.
