Obituary of Offie Leroy Parmer

Funeral services for Offie Leroy Parmer, age 74, of Woodland will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 2:00 PM from Bethel East Baptist Church with Rev. John Miles and Rev. Keith Runels officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Mr. Parmer passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Parrish Parmer of Woodland; one daughter, Sherry Miles of Woodland; two sons, Chris Parmer of Cedartown, GA, and Brinton Parmer of Woodland; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Wilma Anderson of LaGrange, GA, and Norma Parmer of Wadley. Pallbearers will be John Michael Miles, Richard Jeter, Josh Smith, Shane Pytko, Chadez Griffin, Chris Pike, Kyle Baker, and Tony Ray Johnson. A Randolph County native, Mr. Parmer was born on April 8, 1941, the son of Jodie C. and Bessie Stevens Parmer. He was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church and owned a poultry farm. Mr. Parmer was preceded in death by his parents, several half sisters, and three half brothers. The family is accepting flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel East Baptist Church.
