Funeral services for Garland Wesley Pruitt, age 70, of Woodland, AL will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at 7:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Don Ellison officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, May 11 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016.
Mr. Pruitt passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.
Survivors include: three sisters, Barbara Ann Orton of Easley, SC, Dianne Veronica Tranum of Wedowee, AL, and Donna Jean Hart of Dawsonville, GA; and one brother, Al Pruitt of Sylva, NC.
A Washington, D.C. native, Mr. Pruitt was born on June 12, 1945, the son of Albert Earle and Jean Veronica Goulart Pruitt. He was Christian by faith and was a United States Army Green Beret Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star with V for Valor and also an Air Medal. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents.
