Funeral services for Ann Stephens, age 74, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.
Mrs. Stephens passed away Monday, August 22, 2016, at Wedowee Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Stephens of Wadley; one daughter, Debbie McElroy of Jacksonville, AL; one son, Jimmy Stephens of Wadley, AL; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Tommy McWhorter of Alex City and James McWhorter of Florida.
Pallbearers will be Mark Gandy, Mark McWhorter, Brad Stephens, Brian Stephens, Greg Stephens, and Nelson Hay. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimbo Stephens, Leslie Hay, Ronnie Siskey, Jeff McWhorter, and Dale Hay.
A Tallapoosa County native, Mrs. Stephens was born on October 11, 1941, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Huey McWhorter. She was a member of Malone Baptist Church and worked as a secretary for Traylor Tax Service. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents.
