Obituary of John Frank Kirby

Graveside memorial services for John Frank Kirby, age 89, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Wedowee City Cemetery with Dana Chandler officiating. Mr. Kirby passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Holmes Kirby; two daughters, Dena Wise (Kenneth) of Knoxville, TN, and Margie Hudson of Lawrenceburg, TN; and one son, Joseph Shellie Kirby (Heather) of Palatka, FL; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A Randolph County native, Mr. Kirby was born on September 28, 1927, the son of John Shellie and Esther Bradley Kirby. He was a member of the West Broad Street Church of Christ and was a retired automobile service merchant. Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the West Broad Street Church of Christ or the American Heart Association.
