Obituary of Nancy Elizabeth Johnson Meadows

~~Funeral services for Nancy Elizabeth Johnson Meadows, age 87, of Woodland, Alabama, will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Herren’s Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Stevens and Bro. David Taft officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 12, 2017.  Mrs. Meadows will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.
Mrs. Meadows passed away Sunday, June 11, 2017, at her residence.
Survivors include: three daughters, Rita Elizabeth Cofield (husband, Tommy) of Graham, Carol Meadows Mitchell (husband, Tommy) of Heflin, and Debbie Murphy Meadows of Woodland; one son, Winfred Ray Meadows of Willis, TX; grandchildren, Brent Nuckolls, Jennifer Levy and Michelle Justin, Amanda Johnson and Austin Meadows, and Heather Edwards and Heath Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Brooksie Johnson; nieces, Barbara Ann Holloway and Cheryl Weseloh; and nephew, Johnny Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Morris Weseloh, Jason Lovvorn, Dr. Jeff Stewart, Adam Lovvorn, Keith Holloway, Ricky Spratlin, Heath Mitchell, and Dale Meadows.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Meadows was born on January 4, 1930, the daughter of Willis Bud and Agnes Smith Johnson.  She was a member of Herren’s Grove Baptist Church and worked as a poultry farmer and homemaker.  Mrs. Meadows was very active in gardening, sewing, and church activities.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winfred Z. Meadows; one son, Steve Meadows; grandson, Stacy Nuckolls; two sisters, Margie Lovvorn and Iva Ballard; and one brother, Ridley Johnson.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to New Beacon Hospice.
