Obituary of Edwin Dewayne Swann

Funeral services for Edwin Dewayne Swann, age 72, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church with Rev. Ricky Cummings and Rev. Johnny Bishop officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2017.  Mr. Swann will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mr. Swann passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Swann of Wedowee; one daughter, Mandi Yarbrough (husband, Randy) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Ashley Yarbrough, Timmy Yarbrough, Emilie Brown, and Brody Yarbrough; and one sister, Rudene Knight of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Colton Diamond, Barry Nelson, Eddie Creed, Keith Blue, Shane Taylor, Blu Sledge, Hiram Baldwin, Daniel Knight, and Walt Albright.  Honorary pallbearer will be Al Kindell.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Swann was born on September 4, 1944, the son of John D. and Jessie Mae Treadwell Swann.  He was a member of Corinth Christian Church and was owner of E&J Auto Sales for over 30 years.  Mr. Swann was preceded in death by his parents.
