Obituary of Elaine M. Cofield

Funeral services for Elaine M. Cofield, age 81, of Newell will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Halsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

Mrs. Cofield passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at Tanner Hospice in Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Cofield of Newell; one son, Mike Cofield (wife, Dawn) of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Bobby Ray Cofield and Michael Allon Cofield; and one sister, Eunice Gaines of Bowdon, GA.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Cofield, Michael Allon Cofield, Greg Gaines, Greg Edwards, Jason Simpson, and Steve Spratlin.

A Carroll County, Georgia native, Mrs. Cofield was born on April 11, 1936, the daughter of John A. McIntyre, Sr., and Mae Lovvorn McIntyre.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing.  Mrs. Cofield was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Dale Brown, Mary Nell Ellis, and Martha Lou Holmes; and one brother, John A. McIntyre, Jr.
