Obituary of George W. Bonds

Funeral services for George W. Bonds, age 87, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 1:00 PM at Liberty East Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Price and Barry Yates officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.

Mr. Bonds passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mitchell Bonds of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Mitchell, Paul Wiggins, Kenneth Craven, Richard Pike, Lonsie Pike, and Ricky Pike.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Bonds was born on December 26, 1929, the son of William T. and Jossie Harvel Bonds.  He was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church, was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and worked as a mechanic for Sunbelt Express. Mr. Bonds was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.
