Obituary of Vickie Stamps Duke

Funeral services for Vickie Stamps Duke, age 68, of Newell, Alabama, will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dempsey and Rev. Ed Halsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Bremen, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 9, 2017.

Mrs. Duke passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Duke of Newell; one daughter, Tracy Prince (husband, Ryan) of Woodland; one son, Michael Duke (wife, Jennifer) of Gadsden; seven grandchildren; one brother, Randy Stamps of Austell, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jody Crenshaw, David Rainwater, Gunny Waters, Jimmy Hicks, Mark Rakestraw, and Mike Tranum.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Alewine and Mike Patterson.

A Bremen native, Mrs. Duke was born on January 12, 1949, the daughter of Joseph Pope and Elizabeth Duke Stamps.  She was a member of Waco Baptist Church and worked as a clerk for Sony Music.  Mrs. Duke was preceded in death by her parents.
