Funeral services for Robert Roger Gray, age 71, of Wedowee will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 11:00 AM CST at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. Terry Wortham officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia, at 2:30 PM CST.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, May 28, 2018.

Mr. Gray passed away Friday, May 25, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gray of Wedowee; one daughter, Lisa Phillips of Douglasville; two sons, Kenneth Gray (wife, Stephanie Crowe) of Woodland and Jason Carpenter of Mableton, GA; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Cindy Lanham (husband, Wayne) of Woodland and Delores Cohran of Douglasville, GA; and one brother, Jack Gray (wife, Kim) of Ball Ground, GA.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Gray’s family and friends.

A Douglasville, Georgia native, Mr. Gray was born on November 14, 1946, the son of Robert Pleas and Annie Ruth Blair Gray.  He was a member of Bethel West Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver.  Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Amy Garrett; one son, Keith Gray; brother, Phillip Gray; and one sister, Patsy Boyd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or one’s favorite charity.
