Obituary of R.Z. Bailey

Funeral services for R.Z. Bailey, 91, of Woodland, AL, will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Mt. Carmel Church of Christ with Bro. Ricky Murphy, Bro. Mark Carpenter, Bro. Willbur Bass, Bro. Lee Messer and Bro Allen Daniel. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, October 12, 2018. Mr. Bailey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mr. Bailey passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his home.

Survivors include: one son, Ronnie Bailey of Woodland; two grandchildren; one sisters, Bertha Almon .

Pallbearers will be Jack Johnson, JR Fincher, Keith Blue, Russell Bailey, John Fincher, Brad Johnson.

A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mr. Bailey was born on March 24, 1927, the son of Richard “Bud” Bailey and Laura Wilson Bailey.  He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ and had worked as a presser at Lamar Manufacturing. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Jones Bailey; infant son; four brothers, TV Bailey, Audrey Bailey, Euclid Bailey, and John Bailey; 5 sisters, Eva Telethia Bailey, Ruth Emma Bailey, Essie Mae Bailey, Mavis Almon and Earla Spradlin.
