Obituary of Loy Harold Crawford, Jr.

Funeral services for Loy Harold Crawford, Jr., age 85, of Woodland will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. David Daniel and Rev. Terry Eason officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018.  Mr. Crawford will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mr. Crawford passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Emma Lou Crawford of Woodland; two sons, Neal Crawford (wife, Marianne) of Calhoun, GA, and Paul Crawford (wife, Rebecca) of Fort Payne, AL; four grandchildren, Liam Crawford and Emma Campbell Crawford, both of Fort Payne, AL, and Bryan Crawford (wife, Marybeth) of Albertville, AL, and Matthew Crawford (wife, Brooke) of Rome, Ga; and one great-granddaughter, Ruby Lou Crawford of Rome, GA.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Crawford, Matt Crawford, Keith Crawford, Kevin Crawford, John Fincher, and Dewayne Bailey.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Crawford was born on January 18, 1933, the son of Loy Harold Crawford, Sr., and Essie Faye Cosper Crawford.  He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict.  Mr. Crawford was a retired cable splicer for Southern Bell Company.  He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry Crawford and Larry Joe Crawford.
