Obituary of Clarice McManus McCord

Funeral services for Clarice McManus McCord, age 94, of Woodland will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow at Cool Springs Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday before services begin. Mrs. McCord passed away Monday, June 15, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center. Survivors include: two daughters, Sharon Heard (Phillip) of Woodland and Debra Gibbs (Alan) of Graham; one son, Danny McCord (Ann) of Woodland; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Randolph County native, Mrs. McCord was born on June 18, 1925, the daughter of Ellis and Lula Parker McManus. She was a member of Cool Springs Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing Co. Mrs. McCord was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Duward McCord; and one sister, Jeanette Broach.
