Funeral services for Shirley Rollins, age 78, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Matt Browning, James Novinger, and Greg Kogler officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.  Mrs. Rollins will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Wednesday.

Mrs. Rollins passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Russell Rollins of Woodland; one daughter, Melinda Rollins-Frausto of Dahlonega, GA; one son, Scott Rollins (fiancé, Tracy Moore) of Wedowee; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rick Martin, Colten Rollins, Alex Rollins, Greg Kogler, Joey Fields, and Bruce Ray.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Rollins was born on May 20, 1944, the daughter of Woodrow Lipham and Nettie Creed Lipham James.  She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and had worked for Sewell’s and at the Randolph County High School lunchroom.  Mrs. Rollins enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, and caring for others.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Dall Lipham and Maxine Wakefield; and her stepfather, Ray James.
