Funeral services for Odessa W. Key, age 85, of Anniston, formerly of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Abernathy officiating.  Burial will follow at Union Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 8:00-10:00 AM on Saturday before services begin.


Mrs. Key passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at her son’s home.


Survivors include: one son, Basil Timothy Key (Roxane) of Anniston; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


An Etowah County native, Mrs. Key was born on May 29, 1938, the daughter of George Washington and Rose Ruth Corbin Westbrook.  She was a member of the First Congregational Full Gospel Church of Anniston.  Mrs. Key was a wonderful cook and a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved flowers, loved to sing and play the piano, and she was very creative.  Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Basil Key; her daughter, Angela O. Peterson; a sister, Viole Irene Howell; and a brother, Ronnie George Westbrook.
