Funeral services for Dewey James Noles, age 92, of Lake City, GA, formerly of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2025.
Mr. Noles passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his residence.
Survivors include: one daughter, Elaine Daniel of Waleska, GA; one son, Tim Noles of Woodland; three grandchildren, Lois Boggs (Scott), Laura Daniel, and Kristin Wilson (Drew); three great-grandchildren, Lilian Boggs, Oliver Boggs, and Blanton Wilson; two sisters, Sue Cantrell of Roopville, GA, and Diane Craft of Roanoke; and two brothers, Gervis “Stub” Noles and Charlie Ray Noles, both of Woodland.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Earnest, C. J. Burk, Justin Burk, Kolby Smith, Addison Daniel, and Scott Boggs.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Noles was born on October 8, 1931, the son of James Madison and Lillian Harris Noles. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Mr. Noles worked as a supervisor for R.J. Reid Construction before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hautence “Tenna” Noles; son-in-law, Robert Daniel; three brothers, Huey, Bill, and Cecil Noles; and one sister, Mary Will Spradlin.
