Graveside services for Wynema Shaw Hornsby, age 91, will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 2 PM at Highway Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Richard Baldwin officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:30 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Mrs. Hornsby passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at UAB Hospital.

Survivors include: two sisters, Phyllis Shaw Spratlin and Penny Shaw Phillips; brother-in-law, Cliff Phillips; four nieces, Melanie Leigh, Michele Rabanal, Monica Howard, and Brittney Harper; and nephew, Chris Phillips.

Pallbearers will be Chris Phillips, Scott Harper, Jackson Harper, Jacob Harper, Ray Howard, and Wade Willingham.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Hornsby was born on October 29, 1933, the daughter of A. Esaias and Macie Robinson Shaw.  She was Christian by faith and worked in data processing for Merico Company.  Mrs. Hornsby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Hornsby; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Spratlin.
