Obituary

Funeral services for Willie Frank "Teat" Sheppard, age 65, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with John Burdette officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Mr. Sheppard departed this earthly life on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Tanner East Alabama Medical Center.

Teat leaves to cherish his precious memories; four daughters, Tina (Doug) Sheppard, Meka Sheppard, Rasheda Cox, and Tiffany Foster; two sons, Chico Sheppard and Mario Foster; two brothers, James E. Sheppard and Booker T. (Diane) Sheppard; one sister, Betty (Charlie Frank) Hunter; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Sheppard’s friends and family.

Mr. Willie Frank Sheppard also known as “Teat” was born on June 12, 1959, in Randolph County, Alabama as the baby of 12 children born to the late Frank and Bessie Sheppard. He worked for Don Gay Lumber Company.  Teat lived his life in Randolph County and was well known by everyone as a very nice and humble guy with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Everybody loved him.

In addition to his parents, Teat was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Sheppard; four brothers, Roy Lee Sheppard, Johnny L. Sheppard, Hollis Sheppard, and Frank Sheppard; four sisters, Josie Morgan, Gerladine Sheppard, Dorothy Ann Wilber and Louise Cosby.
