Obituary of Nancy Lou Mitchell

Funeral services for Nancy Lou Mitchell, age 70, of Woodland will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church with Bro. Clayton Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025.  Mrs. Mitchell will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at the Roosevelt Warm Springs LTAC in Warm Springs, Georgia.

Survivors include: one daughter, Michelle Knight (Kyle) of Wadley; one son, Michael Manning (Nikki) of Woodland; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don Butler of Valley and Carl Britt of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Rollins, Wade Rollins, Andrew Padgett, Andrew Rollins, Matt Davidson, and Steve Rolllins.

A West Point native, Mrs. Mitchell was born on May 19, 1954, the daughter of Ben and Nina Butler Britt.  She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church.  Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Danny Mitchell; and one sister.
