Funeral services for Jean H. Murphy, age 72, of Wedowee, will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eric Lester officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26th before services begin.

Mrs. Murphy passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her home.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Murphy of Wedowee, Alabama; one daughter, Jamie Terrell of Wedowee, Alabama; a son, Heath Murphy (Virginia) of Douglasville, Georgia; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Murphy was born on October 10, 1952, the daughter of Harold and Jeanette Holloway. She was a homemaker and in her free time enjoyed reading and collecting books.  Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents.
