Funeral services for Lamerle Vivian Cantrell Hester, age 94, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Stacy Cantrell officiating.  Burial will follow at Liberty East Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mrs. Hester passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam Ritchson (Don) of Newport News, VA; granddaughter, Victoria Ritchson of Newport News, VA; brothers-in-law, Willis Hester of Ringgold, GA and Morgan Hester of Lagrange, GA; sister-in-law Sarah Cantrell of Woodland; and four nephews, Monty Cantrell (Sylvia), Alan Cantrell (Becky), Tracy Cantrell (Diana) all of Woodland and Stacy Cantell (Shannon) of Lineville.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Hester was born on May 29, 1930, the daughter of Theron and Clara Madden Cantrell. She was Christian by faith and had worked as a seamstress at Palm Beach Manufacturing before retiring.  Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Hester; son, Paul Hester and her brother, Dwain Cantrell.
