Obituary of Kathy Crabtree

Funeral services for Kathy Crabtree, age 76, will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at White’s Chapel Church with Bro. Mike Nobbley, Bro. Chris Agee, and Bro. Edward Bolton, Jr., officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 6, 2025.  Mrs. Crabtree will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Crabtree passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Crabtree of Roanoke; one granddaughter, Leah Paige Bassett; son-in-law, Johnny Bassett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Murphy, James Yarbrough, Brad Arrington, Tyler Baugham, Arron Ford, Harley Johnson, Brandon Kellum, Chad Crabtree, and Brent Arrington.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Crabtree was born on December 10, 1948, the daughter of William Cerril and Maxine Gunn Brumbeloe.  She was Christian by faith and worked as a paralegal for Oliver Kitchens.  Mrs. Crabtree was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Elizabeth “Beth” Bassett; one sister, Dianne Benefield.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the White’s Chapel Cemetery Fund.
