Obituary of James Issiac Molden

Funeral services for James Issiac Molden, age 85, of Wadley will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev.  William Phillips officiciating.  Burial will follow at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in Wedowee, AL.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Mr. Molden passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Survivors include: one daughter, Carolyn D. Molden of Douglasville; three sons, Tommy B. Molden (Charity) of Canton, MS, Kenneth J. Molden (Temika) of Wedowee, Calvin R. Sims, Sr. (Veronica) of Decatur, GA; ten grandchildren, James “Bubba” K. Molden, Clarissa Cain, Tori Augustus (Mel), Marion Molden, Heather Molden, Calvin R. Sims, Jr. (Kat), (C.J.), Kasey Sims, D. J. Franklin, Jr., Kendra Molden, and Kennedi Molden; four great-grandchildren, Shai E. Augustus, Era P. Augustus, Justin Champion, Jr., and A’onest Molden; and special friend, Era S. Brewster.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Molden was born on June 21, 1939, the son of John Tom and Vera Agnes Robertson Molden.  He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church of Wedowee, AL, and worked as a forklift operator for Pepsi Cola for 42 years.  Mr. Molden was preceded in death by his parents, John Tom and Vera Agnes Robertson Molden; his wife, Eldora Sims Molden; grandchild, Tanisha L. Sims; three sisters, Betty Lancaster, Mae Emma Sims, and Josephine Molden McGahee; and four brothers, J. L. Molden, Frank Molden, William Molden, and Benny R. Molden.

Memorials may be floral.

The repast will be held after services at the Red C Cafe at 216 Main Street, Wadley, AL 36276.
