Funeral services for Betty Joyce Cantrell, age 94, of Wedowee, formerly of Lithia Springs, will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Levens Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Mrs. Cantrell passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Cantrell of Wedowee, formerly of Lithia Springs; one son, Jonathan Cantrell (Martha) of Clarksville, GA; three grandchildren, Jonathan Cantrell, Jr. (Alisha), Courtney Tanaskovic (Rade), and Samuel Cantrell; and five great-grandchildren, Jett Cantrell, Theodore Cantrell, Andrej Tanaskovic, Mateja Tanaskovic, and Addison Cantrell.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Cantrell was born on January 16, 1931, the daughter of Vasser and Cora Rice Nix Duffie.  She was Christian by faith and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Danny Wayne Cantrell; three sisters; and two brothers.
