Memorial services for Doris Dukes Kemmerlin, age 85, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with John M. Saunders officiating.

Mrs. Kemmerlin passed away on February 24, 2025, in Fairhope, Alabama.

Survivors include: four children, Carol Pittman of Fairhope, AL, Archie Kemmerlin, III (Lisa) of North Carolina, Kelly Cleere (David) of Gulf Shores, AL, and  Kerri Gay (Paul) of Roanoke; a son-in-law, Tim Arrington; Danny,  Ann, and Lance Nagel; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Columbia, South Carolina native, Mrs. Kemmerlin was born on July 22, 1939, the daughter of Charles David and Francis R. Axson Dukes.  She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Roanoke and worked as an RN at Wellstar West Georgia Hospital.  Mrs. Kemmerlin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Lewis Kemmerlin, II; one daughter, Candice O’Cain Arrington; one granddaughter, Courtney Faye Kemmerlin; and one great-grandson, Archie Ray Gay.
