Obituary of Margaret R. Brown

Funeral services for Margaret R. Brown, age 79, will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan Conger and Bro. Fitzgerald Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mrs. Brown passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charlie Brown of Roanoke; two sons, Glenn Brown (Sheree) of Roanoke and Fitzgerald Brown (Kimberly) of Butler, GA; two grandchildren, Roy Levi Brown (Morgan) of Wedowee and Holly Mercedes Peed (Joseph) of Austell, GA; two great-grandchildren, Emilia Rose Brown and Juniper Joy Peed; three brothers, Thomas Rollins (Joy), Mack Rollins (Jeannie), and Hulan Rollins (Debra), all of Roanoke; several special nieces and nephews; and a special dear friend, Lottie Key.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Peed, Levi Brown, Freddy Boggs, Benjie Johnson, Chasey Brown, and Tony Brown.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Brown was born on June 27, 1945, the daughter of Levi and Maci Richardson Rollins.  She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Brown loved flowers and painting, and she loved spending time at the creek with her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Eden Joseph Peed; six sisters; and two brothers.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Welcome Home Baptist Church.
