Funeral services for Dawn Mitchell Carson, age 64, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Forresters Chapel Church with Bro. Darnell Teel officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Mrs. Carson passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Wyatt Carson of Woodland and one sister, Carolee Mitchell of Pensacola, FL.

Pallbearers will be Richard Lashley, William D. Clegg, Richard Kirkland, Andy Bailey, Patrick Thomas, and Paul Brown.

A Mobile, Alabama native, Mrs. Carson was born on February 8, 1961, the daughter of James E. and Mary V. Taunton Mitchell.  She attended Liberty East Baptist Church and was retired from Gold Kist.  Mrs. Carson loved Facebook and her cats.  She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Dennis Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
