Jerry Lynn Owens, age 68, of Woodland passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Tanner Hospital in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include: one daughter, Amanda Tankersley of Carrollton; one grandchild, Lane Tankersley; one sister, Genice Stapler of Ranburne; one brother, Arlin Owens of Woodland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Blount County, Alabama native, Mr. Owens was born on January 12, 1957, the son of James Olen and Louise Lybrand Owens.  He was Baptist by faith and worked in shipping for Gold Kist.  Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Owens; a niece, Donnette Smith; and a nephew, Jason Stapler.

The family will host a memorial service on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Liberty East Baptist Church in Woodland.
