Funeral services for Christopher “Papa” Don Gay, age 58, of Lineville, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Benefield Funeral Chapel.   

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm on Monday before services begin.

Mr. Gay passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Nikki Gay of Lineville; two daughters, Brittany Land (Daniel) and Lindsey Wall (Christopher) both of Auburn; one son, Luke Gay (Kanaan) of Lineville; his mother, Judith Ayres Gay of Wedowee; seven grandchildren, Elijah Land, Drew Land, Knox Gay, Evey Jane Land, Max Wall, Anna Wales Gay, and Zuri Wall; three sisters, Cindy Cleveland (David) of Alex City, Stacey Fowler of Wedowee, and Clancy Hilyer (Jon) of Tallassee; one brother, John Gay (Holly) of Front Royal, VA; and his beloved fur baby, Teddy.

Mr. Gay was born October 17, 1966, the son of Don Johnson Gay and Judith Ayres Gay. He served in the United States Navy Reserves where he served as a Seabee and retired as Chief Petty Officer.  He was Christian by faith and owned his own construction company, G4 Construction. All who knew Chris were aware of his deep love and affection for his grandkids and family. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Kelly Railey.
