Funeral services for Roy Huston Bunn, age 79, of Wedowee, will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Pastor Blue Vardaman officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Christian Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM.

Mr. Bunn passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Taylor Bunn of Wedowee; daughter, Stephanie Bacak (Matthew) of Wedowee; son, Jonathan Bunn (Jennifer) of Gurley, AL; five grandchildren, Taylor Bucher-Dial (Nicholas), Madison Elizabeth Bacak, Brian Bacak, Abigail Bunn, and Joseph Bunn; two sisters, Jane Blake (Bobby) of Mississippi and Carol Bunn of Alabaster; and two brothers, Joel Bunn of Wedowee and Dwight Bunn of Ashland.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bunn, Brian Bacak, Matthew Bacak, Nicholas Bucher-Dial, Randall Bunn, and Phillip Bunn.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Bunn was born on November 8, 1945, the son of Theodore and Cludie Sailors Bunn. Raised in the Church of Christ, he later attended Baptist services with his family. He worked for many years as a rural mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Beyond his career, he was a skilled sawmiller, furniture builder, tatter, and watermelon grower, never afraid of hard work and always finding ways to keep busy and give to family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max Bunn and Arthur Bunn; and sister, Betty Frances Bunn.
