Funeral services for Phillip Roger Florence, age 73, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Johnson, Rev. Billy East, and Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating.  Burial will follow at Highway Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Mr. Florence passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Tanner Medical Center-East Alabama in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Miles Florence of Woodland; one sister, Sondra Boyd (Gary) of Roanoke; and one brother, Barry Florence of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Boyd, Brandon Taylor, Wyatt Morris, Marc Florence, Kyle Hester, and Tiler Boyd.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Florence was born on February 20, 1952, the son of John  William and Annie Ruth McDaniel Florence.  He was a member of Highway Congregational Methodist Church and was a self-employed automotive technician and also worked for many dealerships.  Mr. Florence loved to deer hunt and was a faithful servant for the Lord, loved ministry, praying for people, and reading his Bible.  He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Danielle Florence.
