Funeral services for Benny G. Cosper, age 86, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at New Home Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Ward and Ronnie Burson officiating.  Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:30 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mr. Cosper passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tawyna Cosper Cash (Jeff) of Lanett; three grandchildren, Benjamin Cash (Robin), Christopher Cash, and Jordan Cash (Marlee); two great-grandchildren, Ramsey Kate and Kipton Cash; one brother, Larry Cosper (Margie) of Newell; sister-in-law, Sandra Murphy; and two nephews, Donovan Murphy and Patrick Murphy.

Pallbearers will be Ben Cash, Chris Cash, Jordan Cash, Gary Holloway, Donovan Murphy, Patrick Murphy.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Cosper was born on September 7, 1939, the son of Clatis Harold and Elsie Irene Waites Cosper.  He was a member of New Home Methodist Church and served as a minister for the United Methodist Church for 36 years.  Mr. Cosper was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Janice Boyd Cosper.
