James L. Johnson, age 73, of Eastaboga passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Survivors include his wife, Devon Akins Johnson; two daughters, Sharon Rae Husbands (Whit) of Lineville and Misti Short (Andrew) of Northport, AL; one son, James Michael Johnson (Kristy) of Lineville; grandchildren, Caylon and Koby Johnson and Alexander James Short; one nephew, Wayne Poe; and sister, Barbara Sims of Jacksonville, AL.
Born on May 26, 1952, Mr. Johnson is the son of Leon and Eunice Luker Johnson. He was a member of Eastaboga Baptist Church and was retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice S. Johnson; a sister, Sandy Crownover; and brothers, Gene Johnson, Frank Poe, and Rusty Poe.
The family will host a memorial service on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Craig Memorial United Methodist Church at 175 John Will Avenue, Eastaboga, AL 36260, with Bro. Tim Belcher officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:30 on Monday before services begin.
