Funeral services for Robert Dean “Bobby” Powell, age 81, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Bro. Cleve Moore officiating.  Burial will follow at Rome City Cemetery in Rome, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 9:30 AM before services begin. 

Mr. Powell passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Carillon Oaks Memory Care in Heflin, Alabama.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Doane Powell; niece, Brittany Weatherby; two nephews, Mark Griffin and Greg Griffin; and a brother-in-law, Don Hester.

A Georgia native, Mr. Powell was born on January 15, 1944, the son of Vernon Harv and Beulah Mae Parrish Powell.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran and attended Ava Methodist Church.  Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Hester.
