It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Dozier Taylor of Oxford, Alabama, and formerly of Wedowee, Alabama.

Thomas was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Thomas was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church, located in Newell, Alabama.  His memory will be treasured by all who loved him.

Thomas is survived by his children, Steve (Cindy) Taylor, Stanley (Shelia) Taylor, and Sherri (Steve) Williamson and brother, O.W. Taylor. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cage Williamson (Brooklyn), Seth Williamson, Kaitlyn Williamson, Bryan Taylor, Jason Taylor (Theresa). Chris Taylor (Anna), Jeff Taylor (Rebecca), Shannon Taylor (Marty), Jim Gaither (Allison); great-grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Grace Taylor, Emma Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Kathryn Taylor, Rosaleigh Taylor, Wyatt Taylor, Franklin Taylor, Annabelle Taylor, Chipper Taylor (Shelley), Brianna Jones (Morgan), Landon Gaither, Georgia Gaither; and brother-in-law, Harold Johnson, Sr.

Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mildred Johnson Taylor; his parents, Noel Orvin Taylor and Florence Haynes Taylor; brothers, James Taylor, Ronald Taylor, and Wayne Taylor; and sister, Katherine Bailey.
