Funeral services for Ida Lee Heard, age 79, of Fairburn, GA, formerly of Randolph County will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Henry Nelson and Rev. William Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Mrs. Heard passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Schaquanda Marie Heard Edwards of LaGrange, GA; two sons, Keith Labrawn Heard of Exeter, PA, and Christopher Antonio Heard of Wedowee; eight grandchildren, Ardasia Heard, Raheem Edwards, Arkeria Heard, Destiny Tatum, Akila Heard, Clayton Heard, George Tatum, and Liberty McClain; five great-grandchildren, Kelani Heard, Legacy Heard, Marley Heard, Jasonn Tatum, and Darrious Patillo; two sisters, Sallie Langston of Fairburn, GA, and Evelyn Tucker (Larry) of Memphis, TN; and a sister-in-law, Icie Langston of Wadley.

Pallbearers will be Terry Langston, Keith Heard, Christopher Heard, and Melvin Langston.  Clayton Heard will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A Malone native, Mrs. Heard was born on November 6, 1946, the daughter of Thomas Odell and Estella Houston Langston.  She was Christian by faith and worked in the textile industry.  Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jasper Michael Heard; a grandson, Christopher Antonio Jaquail Heard; six brothers, Odell Langston, James Langston, John Henry Langston, Fred Langston, William Walker Langston, and Edward Washington Langston; and one sister, Elizabeth Knight.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
