Funeral services for Roman M. Richardson, age 91, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at East Napoleon Church of Christ with Bro. Bill Prince officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
Mr. Richardson passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Franklin, Georgia.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sandra Edwards of Woodland; three sons, Rodney Richardson (Sherry) and Tommy Richardson (Kim), both of Woodland, and Jeff Richardson (Amy) of Roanoke; ten grandchildren, Jeremie, Wendy, Josh, Jason, Jennifer, Trevor, Micayla, Auburn, Jacob, and Roman; 16 great-grandchildren, Hattie Lou, Scout, Bowen, Colt, Roman Jackson (RJ), Cade, Kelsea, Katie, Kenslie, Myleigh, Austin, Abbi, Amber, Chasiti, Ashleigh, and Angel; two great-great-grandchildren, Lila Mae and Cooper; two brothers, Belmon Richardson (Jean) of Florida and Billy Richardson of Wedowee; three sisters, Wilma Bowen of Rock Mills, Pat Boykin and Jessie Kenedy (Jack), both of Woodland; one brother-in-law, Otis Bowen, Jr. (Janice) of Wedowee; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Elder (Joe) of North Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Roman Richardson, Josh Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Tony Richardson, Chase Adamson, Billy Thrasher, Andy Gray, and Nick Potts.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Richardson was born on October 5, 1934, the son of Henry and Camilla Crenshaw Richardson. He was a member of East Napoleon Church of Christ and worked for West Point Pepperell in West Point, GA, as a machine mechanic until retirement. He also farmed every year. Mr. Richardson enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also left behind some beautiful homemade cedar and cherry furniture. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sarah Bowen Richardson; one son, Gregory Michael Richardson; one son-in-law, Barry Edwards; one brother, Raymond Richardson; two sisters-in-law, Ida Belle Bowen and Peggy Richardson; one brother-in-law, John Bowen; one niece, Cathy Green; and one nephew, Kenneth Bowen.
Memorials may be floral.
