Funeral services for Kayla Lyann Laney, age 31, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Stoney Halsey officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30-3:00 PM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mrs. Laney passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include her husband, Cody Laney of Wedowee; three children, Zelda Laney, Maleah Laney, and Ronne Laney; her parents, Cynthia Jones Leffler of Georgia and Dwayne Leffler (Danielle) of Roanoke; paternal grandmother, Belinda Anglin; five sisters, Destiny Fitch (Justin), Belle Leffler, Jessica Leffler, Kaylee Leffler, and Autumn Leffler; three brothers, Jonathon Leffler, Bryceson Leffler and Ranzie Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Douglasville, GA native, Mrs. Laney was born on December 29, 1994, the daughter of Dwayne Leffler and Cynthia Jones Leffler.  She was Christian by faith and was a stay-at-home mom.  Mrs. Laney was preceded in death by her siblings, Ashley Jones, Anthony Jones and Dwayne Leffler, Jr; grandfather, Tony Jones; and grandmother, Henrietta Daniels.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go towards final expenses.
