Stanley Robert Cofield was a loving father and friend who went to be with the love of his life on May 6 at the age of 78. He graduated from Chambers County High School (Milltown) and Southern Union State Junior College. He had many jobs and many talents, but retired as owner of American Steeples and Baptistries, Inc. Stanley loved working on cars, cooking, making jewelry, and making craft guitars from found items. He was a creative genius and avid storyteller. He never met a stranger and was known for his compassion and generosity.

He is survived by his daughter Gerry Cofield and her partner Eric White, both of Carrollton as well as brothers Troy Cofield, LeeRoy Cofield, and Ricky Cofield, and sister Jeanette Waldrep, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Stanley will be on May 14 from 12-2 with the funeral service at 2, all at Benefield’s Funeral Home in Wedowee AL.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Randolph County Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
