Funeral services for Faustino Velasquez Godinez, age 59, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Gali Balaswamy officiating.

Mr. Godinez passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include five children, Hugo Velasquez Lopez, Etelvina Velasquez Lopez, Brijilio Velasquez Lopez, Elfego Velasquez Lopez, and Adalila Velasquez Lopez; 10 grandchildren; and eight siblings, Everardo Velasquez Godinez, Magdalena Velasquez Godinez, Francisca Velasquez Godinez, Feliciano Velasquez Godinez, Estefanea Velasquez Godinez, Agustina Velasquez Godinez, Aureliano Velasquez Godinez, and Antonio Velasquez.

A Guatemala native, Mr. Godinez was born on December 10, 1966, the son of Julio Velasquez Escobar and Teresa Godinez Velasquez.  He was Catholic by faith and worked in the landscaping business.  Mr. Godinez was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosa Velasquez Godinez.
