Funeral services for Florence Barton Lambert Pate, age 90, of Jacksonville, will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Steve Dempsey officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Ms. Pate passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include: one daughter, Linda Hammonds; four sons, Danny Thomas Deese, Larry Deese, Jerry Deese (Doris), and Greg Deese (Sherry); eight grandchildren, Nick Deese, Joey Deese (Anna), Michael Deese (Kristen), Heather Dahl (Don), Matthew Deese, Pauline Quiambo, Danyel Burnett, and Misty Beason; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joey Deese, Nick Deese, Hunter Beason, Cole Beason, Michael Deese, and Matthew Deese.

A Randolph County native, Ms. Pate was born on October 21, 1935, the daughter of Jim and Martha Key Lambert.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a presser for Sewell Manufacturing in Heflin.  Ms. Pate was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren, Melinda Deese and Shane Beason.
