Funeral services for Patty Hurley Holmes, age 74, of Guntersville, will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Roger Hammett officiating.  Burial will follow at Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mrs. Holmes passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Marshall Manor in Guntersville, AL.

Survivors include: two sons, Lee Holmes (Heather Landry Holmes) of Guntersville, AL, and Roger Dale Holmes, Jr., of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Brianna Holmes of Nashville, TN, Carissa Holmes and Londyn Holmes, both of Guntersville, AL; and one brother, James H. Hurley, Jr. (Lenita) of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Steve Smith, William Smith, Bryan Smith, Cody Smith, Mark Holmes, Brenden Landry, Cody Landry, and Drew Cavender.  

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Holmes was born on May 26, 1952, the daughter of James H. Hurley, Sr., and Lexa Pool Hurley.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a millwright.  Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Dale Holmes, Sr.; two sisters, Letha Rice and Martha Smith; and one brother, John Hurley.
