Funeral services for Patricia Richardson Boykin, age 76, will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Fetner officiating.  Burial will follow at Highway Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:30 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Ms. Boykin passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Traylor Retirement Center in Roanoke.

Survivors include: one daughter, Lisa Sheppard (Tim) of Roanoke; one son, Shane Mitchell (Tracy) of Woodland; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma Bowen of Rock Mills and Jessie Kennedy of Woodland; and two brothers, Belmon Richardson of Coco Beach, FL, and Billy Richardson of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Mitchell, Brett Holloway, Hunter Sims, Roger Gosdin, and Reed Satterfield.

A Roanoke native, Ms. Boykin was born on November 29, 1949, the daughter of Henry and Cermilla Crenshaw Richardson.  She was a member of Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing.  Ms. Boykin was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Duane Aldridge and John A. Mitchell; and two brothers, Roman Richardson and Raymond Richardson.
