Funeral services for Earl Lee Loveless, age 83, of Wedowee will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ronald Williams and Bro. John Kiker officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Monday before services begin.
Mr. Loveless passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.
Survivors include: one son, Paul Loveless (Stacey); one step-son, Terry Richardson (Sylvia); ten grandchildren, Maegan Daniel (Jacob), Valerie Walker, Jonathan Walker (Carman), Jamison Walker (Susian), Lee Richardson, Krystal Sheppard, Ashley Kinder (Anthony), Brandi Bickerstaff (Richard), Kristyn Schupp (Phillip), and Zachary Morris (Krista); 19 great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda McCain (Nelson), two brothers, Jerry Loveless (Carolyn) and Richard Loveless (Rhonda); and a sister-in-law, Jean Loveless.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Walker, Lee Richardson, Levi Screws, Eli Mize, Clint Loveless, Andrew Rollins, and Olivia Trejo. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamison Walker, Mason Walker, Rodney Manley, and Craig Manley.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Loveless was born on October 29, 1942, the son of James Euell and Annie Benefield Loveless. He was retired from Amoco Fabrics and Fibers in Roanoke and also worked as a logger and skidder operator for years. Mr. Loveless was a dedicated member of Zion Church of God and was a true example of a Christian. He was hardworking, willing to help anyone anywhere, and was the most selfless man you would ever meet. Mr. Loveless was a wonderful father, step-father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and was the best neighbor one could ask for. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Opaline Loveless; three daughters, Penny Berryhill, Robin Richardson, and Renee Wood; a grandson, William Loveless; and siblings, Merita Johnson (Charles), Coleen Campbell (Travis), and William Loveless.
The family would like to offer special thanks to his neighbors and special friends Vera Blanks, Steve and Shannon Harrington, granddaughter-in-love, Abby Richardson, and Teresa Butzer for taking care of him and feeding him when family was away from home. Also, a special thanks to Nelson and Linda McCain and Jerry and Carolyn Loveless for all of their help and support during this difficult time.
