Funeral services for Hugh Fordham, age 78, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Zion Baptist Church with Bro. David Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026.

Mr. Fordham passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tina Shirey (Alex) of Ashland, AL; two sons, Ken Fordham (Christy) and Ryan Fordham (Kelly), both of Woodland, AL; six grandchildren, John David Fordham (Lili), Connor Fordham (Alyssa), Maddie Fordham, Andy Fordham, Raegan Shirey, and Slade Shirey; two great-grandchildren, Titus Fordham and Owen Fordham; and three siblings, Judy Hulse (Dennis), Steven Fordham, and Sheila Milstead (Harlan).

Pallbearers will be John David Fordham, Connor Fordham, Andy Fordham, Alex Shirey, Jim Traylor, and Greg Parrish.

A Cleburne County native, Mr. Fordham was born on May 24, 1948, the son of Vinson and Leatrice Fordham.  He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a 1966 graduate of Cleburne County High School.  Mr. Fordham was retired from Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his yard.  Mr. Fordham was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 51 years, Nancy Fordham; a sister, Sue Fordham; and a brother, Mike Fordham.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
