Funeral services for Mrs. Janett Parker Sears Murphy, age 81, of Woodland, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, Sept. 6 from the Bear Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Joey Gay officiating.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5.

Mrs. Murphy died Saturday, Sept. 4 at Randolph Medical Center.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Leron Murphy of Newell, two daughters, Margie (Mark) of Newell and Carol (Joey) Gay of Woodland, Two sons, Eddie (Judy) Sears of Woodland and James (Merredith) Sears of Roanoke, two sisters, Charlotte Strain of Wedowee and Rebecca Dukas of Woodland, one brother David Horace Parker of Woodland, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Murphy was born July 23, 1929, the daughter of J.V. and Elva Haynes Parker. She was a member of Bear Creek Methodist Church and was retired from the Randolph County School System.
