Obituary Notice

Funeral services for, Mr. Charles William "C W." Bonds, age 85, of Woodland, will be held, Saturday, September 25, 2010, at 2:00 pm, from the Liberty East Baptist Church with Rev. Doris Williams, Rev. Charles Fetner and Rev. Ridley Parmer officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010.

Mr. Bonds died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Carrollton Nursing and Rehab.

Mr. Bonds is survived by one brother, George Bonds of Woodland, three neices, Peggy Linns, Sandra Richards, Retha Terry, and three nephews, J.W. Gosdin, Johnny Messer, and Johnny Messer, Jr.

Pallbearers will be family friends.

Mr. Bonds was born, April 22, 1925, the son of William Thomas and Josie Harval Bonds. He was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church, had been a store owner and operator, and served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Bonds is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Chappell Bonds; his parents; one sister, Alice Messer; one half-sister, Missouri Layton.
