Obituary Notice

Funeral services for Joann Holloway Satterwhite, age 81, from Douglasville, GA, will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2012, from White's Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Henderson and Rev. Don Quick officiating. Mrs. Satterwhite will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, September 28th.

Pallbearers will be Scott Windsor, David Breedlove, Tim Vines, Allen Crockett, Jimmy McCain and Randy Buchanan.

Mrs. Satterwhite died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Traylor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Satterwhite is survived by one son, Dwayne Satterwhite and wife Birgit of Douglasville, GA; two sisters, Myrna Alexander and husband Johnny of Salem, OR, Ronnette Abrams and husband Russell of Roanoke; one grandchild; two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Satterwhite was born, August 13, 1931, the daughter of Roney H. and Verdie Henry Holloway. She was a member of White's Chapel Methodist Church and had worked for Palm Beach Company. Mrs. Satterwhite had been Church Secretary and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Danny Alan Satterwhite; two brothers.
